PartitionBio: 2025 in Review

A Breakthrough Year for PartitionBio and Growing Our Community

As 2025 draws to a close, we’re proud to reflect on a transformative year for PartitionBio. One defined not only by platform progress, but also by growth in community engagement, outreach, and presence across the UK, Europe and USA.

Our mission remains the same: to unlock new possibilities in biological research and engineering by harnessing the science behind biomolecular condensates for therapeutic and life science research applications such as cell delivery. Soon after launching this summer, our first product BubbleFect advanced on many fronts… from science to people, from labs to networks.

🌟 Product & Platform Progress: BubbleFect Continues to Mature

  • Our BubbleFect Alpha and Beta Programs rolled out globally, offering early-access to labs interested in non-viral, non-lipid droplet-based cell delivery. Following feedback, we updated resources including a refined protocol and BubbleFect Calculator, and two new kit addons with BubbleFect Buffer and BubbleFect Booster. All designed to help users optimise experiments from the word go!

  • In September we announced a worldwide licence agreement with Gene Weaver, granting them rights to use BubbleFect for delivery of their programmable gene-insertion platform. This marks a key step toward applying our technology to complex, multi-component payloads.

  • At the ELRIG Drug Discovery 2025 conference, BubbleFect was awarded the Innovation Award, a milestone that recognised our lipid-free cell delivery system as a novel, impactful alternative to conventional methods.

Together, these steps bring BubbleFect ever closer to real-world adoption, beyond conceptual research, paving the way for scalable, accessible cell-delivery solutions.

🤝 Building Community & Engaging the Ecosystem

This year was also full of outreach, community engagement, and presence… vital for a startup like ours to build awareness, collect feedback, and connect with peers in biotech and life sciences.

  • We participated in Cambridge Wide Open Week 2025, where PartitionBio opened its doors and joined the broader biotech / science-community showcase across Cambridge.

  • We visited National Physical Laboratory (NPL) on two separate occasions, strengthening our connections with academic and biotech communities.

  • We held an event at Chesterford Research Campus, in collaboration with One Nucleus. A moment to meet stakeholders, fellow biotech companies, and local partners at a hub of research and innovation.

  • We also expanded our physical presence by moving to a new facility, consolidating operations and preparing for growth.

These efforts reflect our belief that building technology is only part of the journey. Fostering community, collaboration, and shared curiosity is equally essential to bringing innovation forward.

🌐 Strengthening Our Public Footprint & Accessibility

  • Our website was updated to better reflect our mission, values, and the science behind BubbleFect, making it easier for scientists and collaborators to explore, understand, and engage.

  • The Downloads & Resources hub became a real resource for labs, offering protocols, MSDSs, a calculator and guidance. Lowering the barrier for labs to test BubbleFect themselves.

  • By combining scientific progress with outreach and visibility, we strengthened our positioning: not just as a startup building a new delivery platform, but as a growing, community-oriented biotech company aiming to make cell delivery simpler, more accessible, and more widely adopted.

🔭 Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond

With 2025 setting the stage, we’re entering 2026 with renewed ambition and energy. Key priorities include:

  • Transitioning BubbleFect out of beta and into broader availability for labs across the world.

  • Supporting our partnership with Gene Weaver and exploring additional collaborations to apply BubbleFect in advanced cell and gene engineering workflows.

  • Continuing to deepen our community presence at academic institutions, industry conferences, and biotech hubs. To gather feedback, spark ideas, and drive adoption.

💙 Thank You To All Our Supporters, Collaborators & Early Adopters

To everyone who visited our stand, attended a tour, ran a test, shared feedback, or simply followed our journey… thank you. Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people come together, exchange ideas, and dare to challenge the status quo.

We’re excited about what lies ahead. The future of cell delivery is bright and we believe we’re still just getting started.
